Dr. Soumen Das is an MS, FMAS, FIAGES, FUICC, FALS (Lap Colorectal Surgery). He is an Associate Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS). He graduated from the prestigious Medical College in Kolkata. With an incredible career record, he secured five honors certificates and three gold medals during his MBBS. He completed his MBBS in the year 2006. He was the university topper in the field of Surgery. He studied MS in surgery from the same institute which awarded him the Best Resident Surgeon Award. It was during this period that he was awarded the Uma Rani Saha Gold Medal by the Association of Surgeons, India. After his post-graduation, he went to the best cancer institute in India-Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai to complete fellowship (FUICC) in Surgical Oncology awarded by UICC, Geneva.

Dr. Soumen Das is credited to have performed the first ever single hole gall bladder surgery in West Bengal by SIMP method. He does advanced laparoscopic surgery, breast surgery and cancer surgery.
He is also the Managing Editor of two journals: International Journal of Surgical Studies and Asia Pacific Journal Of Medical Science.
